The origin of Messing About In Sailboats

 • The original quote is from Kenneth Grahame's Wind In the Willows: "There is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats."

Thanks, Adam! My friend Bro is both my friend and my baby brother. :-)

What a great and varied collection of photos. (And Bonnie does rock.)

If I ever won the lottery I swear the first thing I'd do would be booking whatever set of classes I need to take to get bareboat certified. And I would do that in the BVI's. So incredible. That was one of the best vacations ever.

I'd take my mom and dad, and TQ, and, oh, anybody else wanna come? No Capt. Giblet-Bags allowed of course.

I guess the fact that I don't buy lottery tickets could be a slight impediment to achieving that particular pipe dream that way. So don't anybody start stocking up on sunscreen on my account.

Capt. JP's are both great but the first one made me gasp. I vote for that one.

that laser pic is pretty impressive but i think i can trump that... one of my mtes, khan, sailed the 18ft skiff Pegasus. with phillepe and another bloke and he sent me a picture of them in america with kite up and launching off a wave. it i perfect. here is the link to it: if you cant see it, then click this link:http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb75/Ozzy9977/philippe_kahn_pegasus_racing_18_ft_.jpg
