Putting aside the fiasco circling around AC33, it does actually look like there might be some racing next week. So unless something insane happens with the courts I am going to focus on the race.
I came across this interview with the unnamed race director of Americas Cup 33. It's quite long but very informative about the course and what they need to do to manage the race. It's going to be exciting as no one has ever seen these boats match race against each other. One dodgy tack and there could be a hell of a crash. Sounds a bit like NASCAR. The actual racing gets a bit monotonous but the possibility of calamity is magnetic.
It's also going to be cold. I am betting the coldest conditions ever raced in the Americas Cup.
I think it's Harold Bennett from New Zealand who is the PRO for AC33. Not that I'm really interested in this event of course.
