No, it is a myth, you do not have to do frostbiting.
Sensible sailors remember we do this for fun and stay indoor!

I second that, especially since everyone here in MN is busy driving there humongous SUV's all over the lakes pretending to fish through 20 inches of ice. Spring is coming I heard.
